John is happy to announce the release of a book of transcriptions of the 13 original compositions, and 2 traditional tunes, featured on his most recent recording “New Time and Old Acoustic.”
This book a companion to the recording released in 2021. Players have already begun learning these tunes and this book is intended to make the process easier and more accessible for people interested in the music. Up in the Woods (Transcription Book)
Here, at long last, is the book of transcriptions of original compositions featured on John’s recording “Up in the Woods.” John first conceived of a companion book to the recording more than a decade ago. The idea grew from the album’s reception by musicians who were learning the tunes on mandolin and other stringed instruments. This book is intended to make the process easier and more accessible for people interested in the music.
